David Pelham è nato nel 1938 in Inghilterra, dove vive e lavora. Negli Anni Settanta è stato art director della Penguin Books, realizzando celebri copertine come quelle di A Clockwork Orange (Arancia Meccanica) di Anthony Burgess. Nella sua lunga carriera ha prodotto più di 70 libri pop-up per bambini. Le sue opere di grafica e disegno sono state esposte al MoMa di New York, allo Stedelijk Museum di Amsterdam e al Victoria & Albert Museum di Londra.
